PIVKA-II + GAAD Score Testing

🩺 EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES

Hepatocellular Carcinoma Risk Panel

🧬 What is PIVKA-II?

PIVKA-II (Protein Induced by Vitamin K Absence-II) is a blood biomarker that reflects tumour activity and aggressiveness in liver cancer.
It can detect hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) even when the traditional marker AFP appears normal.

📊 What is GAAD Score?

GAAD combines Gender, Age, AFP, and PIVKA-II into one validated algorithm to asses person’s risk of developing HCC.
More sensitive for early-stage liver cancer
Balances sensitivity & specificity
Enables timely referral & treatment

💡 Why Choose the PIVKA-II + GAAD Test?

>> Detects small or early-stage tumours (< 3 cm) often missed by ultrasound or AFP alone
>> Particularly valuable for AFP-negative HCC cases
>> Recommended for high-risk groups such as:
      - People with Hepatitis B/C
      - Cirrhosis or fatty liver disease
      - Men > 40 years or individuals with diabetes
      - Those with a family history of liver cancer
>> Assay cut off: PIVKA-II : < 28.4 ng/ml, AFP < 20 ng/ml and GAAD Score> 2.57 (Positive) - Need further evaluation by imaging and other diagnostic tool for HCC.

>> GAAD has a higher sensitivity compared to AFP or PIVKA-II individually in early HCC
